With a great reputation on the international circuit, I worked closely with students from all nationalities, some, for whom English was not their first Language. In addition to teaching GCSE and A Level English Language and Literature, I also taught IB SL and HL English. In the Middle East, I tutored a number of students from the UK and internationally.
After a very satisfying five years in the Middle East, a return to the UK beckoned and I took up a position as Head of English at Gordonstoun where I continued to develop individual Programmes of Study, Schemes of Work and resources for students from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
With a brief break to take on the position of Head of Sixth Form at Wisbech Grammar School, I returned to the Head of English role at Stamford Endowed Schools where I implemented a new GCSE specification and the A Level in English Language, this in addition to delivering lessons to KS3 and GCSE Literature and Language and A Level Literature. Importantly, all students I have taught have reached or exceeded their potential and I have loved teaching them all, with feedback from my students being overwhelmingly positive.
At home, I live with my husband, John and our daughter, Tovi. We are totally overrun by animals: Harris the black lab, Nigel Barking the cockapoo, Rumblestips and Moggiedubness the cats. Moggiedubness's name is a play on the name of a Roman general. We live in the hope we might one day meet a historian who gets the joke.
